I haven't been on MT for ages- glad to see the group is still running

I hope you are all doing well- I am so glad that the group I started didn't stop when I was forced to leave MT for school! boooo!

just wanted to thank you all for all you do

really? i still have IE as well as firefox anyways I just never use it, ecept for when it opens automatically with MSN when I have email but you can have both

Konqueror, Safari, or just about any browser but IE can try the test
skin.

Bel-san: I've made that template you sent me into an alternative style
sheet. If you are using Firefox, you can see it by going into the View
menu > Page Style > UPSD Test Skin.
Keep in mind that once we have decided on a skin to use, using CSS, I
can do a hell of alot more than what you are limited to with a usual
user skin. For example, I could set a tiled background to <body>,
move and change the font size of the menu, use PNGs for the background
images, etc, etc. If there's something you are not sure I'll be able to
change, just ask me (the answer will prolly be yes anyway ).
I'll start fixing up the contest winners stuff in the next hour and get
back to improving Jacques after I finish that.

hey guys- again, sorry for my awful schedule lately, two jobs school and MT aren't easy to conquer :p

i updated the userpage queue, and also messaged several requests which don't have enough information on them "pm for details" people, you know? hopefully they will take my advice and post in this guestbook more detail.

big shout out to moonfire for really staying on top of the userpage requests! we all appreaciate your hard work!

if you'd like to attempt fixing up the contest winners, i'd be forever grateful btw, do you think we should open the userpageskindesign skin contest again? I think if we do, we should do it soon since MT3 may or may not be finished soon :P ...

also, we should make it so we keep the original colours of MT, so jacques and the tab system work appropriately. maybe i'll make a demo one to get everyone in the mood for the contest, or until MT3's layout comes out. Let me know what you think...

also, I've moved the featured userapge to the reqeust A userpage area, since it was previously shoved behind the contest winners. I think I'm going to eventually move the contest winners to the news section with the runners up, but I need to go through and edit it, since it would be super long :P so- if anyone is bored who is an administrator and feel like making something pretty, be my guest

welcome! please just hit the apply to group button first

the left? [looks at page] the only problem i see on your page is it crops on the top [slice #02] ... this is because to fit on the regular browser, MT slices cut off about an nch on the left and top to compensate. The best way to make sure your page is aligned is to upload it on a test account or your own and then hit 'print screen' and make a new layer on your skin and line it up with your image, then use the boxes and such as a guide for making the boxes/writing etc

well, all we can do is really make the best of things I guess I mean, I think the froup can still be intact once the version comes out, because maybe members are looking for skins that are specific/not whats downloaded at that point in time.
Thing is, I believe MT3 is in it's beta stage maybe [i have no idea what that means] but it sounds like its happening in the near future- I don't mind making these changes we all are discussing, but i'd hate it to become something you all can't use in a month or so because of the new system. So, after careful thinking, I'll let you all decided if its in your best interest to do so, regardless of the possibility that once MT3 comes along, it may not work.

well, i know that MT3 is coming up soon, and since I've been in the loop with the mods and sheq about the features, all I got to say is we may want to wait until the new version is out, since sheqel is actually modifying the layout of MT possibly and also doing something really neat with userpage skins in general... i'm just afraid we'll put alot of time and effort into making a great page and then it not working/not fitting/etc... I realize it would be an external outlet so not much would be different in that field, but also skins may be uploaded on MT for members to download soon, so i'm wondering the following:
a] would it be a waste of our time?
- You guys rocks, and definately know more about userpage making then I do, and I'd hate to see it be ineffective with the new system

b] i'm still confused as to what this entails: can someone explain to me what qwould happen? we'd need a host, and a third party place right? wouldn't that be difficult to update for members?

I've had ALOT of members in this group complain about how advanced the coding is and how hard it is to edit. I've had good members leave because of that very issue. I'd hate to see more leave because of it...

secondly, for a page devoted to making MT userpages, shouldn't our system BE on MT? i'm just curious on your thoughts about that...

also, basically MT3 like I said above is going to have downloadable userpage skins... the idea is that everyone can download them to browse MT with [so they'd be general or specifics- only they could see the browsing ones] and they could also have homepage ones as well- what would the point of making another site for this if the future already has them?

no offense or anything- but i'd like some more input on these, other than its a good idea...

so it wouldn't cost money? that's a relief- lol :P ...

about the CSS editing- I'll need someone who knows something about html coding [aka: moonfire, bready, darkaeon/etc] to fully explain in lamemen's terms exactly what it means/would need/etc. Since belly isn't good at such things, I like to keep things simple, and this sounds really confusing :P

I'd like to have a discussion with all administrators on the subject- my first worry is:
1] will this become more advanced to edit/causing more confusion and a third party source? I like the fact that everything is on MT right now and its gotten easier to update- can I get everyone's view on the pro's and con's of this?

2] is it necessary? I've fund lately the queue easier to update :/ ... thoughts and opinions are asked on this proposal...

3] host files? again I'll need clarifying: sounds like a third pary or something, like what we had before? first off: i don't have a third party source, let alone know how to do that- especially since they cost money [looks at empty wallet] o_o ... again, I need definate easy proposals and the like from everyone.
