I guess I should've mentioned i'm 21 ^_^' ... sorry my bad :P

Northy: I'm glad to hear your experience was positive and that many view braces as an aesthetically pleasing time- this makes me feel a tad less funny looking >_< - well I agree that braces are merely for straigthening and are in that case a medical appliance, I think it's kind of cool that kids aren't looking at them as dorky- it's about time!

EP: **eats cokie** yummy thanks! >_<

Quote:

What I really like to know is why some people think adults wearing braces are "weird." Is it not more important that they are taking proactive steps to protect their dental aesthetics, even if it is at a later age?

I would like to know as well- even before I got them- I would notice adults with them and smile- I always thought it was neat, especially since I never had them, and foresaw a future where I would be socially accepted if I wore them- not that I'm a huge socialite, which in all honesty I would be quite the opposite, [^_^'] you still wouldn't have to deal with the attention. ie: strangers coming up to you and asking "why" you have them [wait- it's already ahppened :? ...] and the like- looking at you like you're trying to 'relive' your adolesence or something to that degree o_0 ...

as for invisaligns, I must admit I Wanted them at first- you would be surprised moments before getting these suckers on you go crazy- you want something unnoticable so you yourself can stay unnoticable really- you don't want anyone to see you so fragile :P ...
but I have a big thing against them- why? they don't work/super expensive/etc - I'm a member of an online adult braces community and have heard many horror stories, and ultimately they would end up paying for metals later on anyways-

eXDream2K5: oh the dreaded pokey metal things- hate those [takes out some wax] :P
I will agree with you on that one- I never smiled with my teeth showing before I had these puppies on, now I seem to always do it, and I think it's because i've been taking progress pictures and notice a ton of change since day one! :D and as such I smile at everyone now- regardless. Doesn't help that my all too habitual "trained smile" [anyone with not so perfect teeth knows what i'm talking about!] with braces made me look like I was chewing on a sour candy o_0 looked ridiculous- so now I only smile displaying my lovely 5,000$ appliance :P

PANDAgirl: aha! I wondered if you'd post here- if I recall, you had a journal on GFXBlog before and we discussed your rbaces/getting them off soon ;)
I cannot wait until that removal date- lol... I look like I'm twelve when I Smile- it's awkward right now o_0... but I agree- I ended up getting Damon 3's self ligating braces [which means they're metal but with ceramic [clear] top hats on them] and they don't use elastics or RPE's :) they are supposed to take less time and move your teeth more naturally- so I say bring it on teeth! :)

saikusa: you'd be surprised- the ceramic ones [like tom cruise ;)] are roughly the same price as regular metals now- many ortho's will actually do them for the same prices- especially for adult patients :) I'm moving soon and i'll possibly be switiching ortho's and because of that I may be receiving ceramics instead as well- I don't mind them- actually I originally wanted those but my ortho really rants about how great self ligating braces are in comparison :)

Frosty: *gasp!* you two? who knew?! >_< I agree- when I Was a kid, I didn't have the money plus I could care less because 'i was sooo much cooler than that' but now i'm glad I finally took the plunge ;) I know- they are starting to align better now and my wires are straighter :) [exciting]

Now, if anyone cares to see- you can check out my progress on Archwired.com by this link:
Belly's brace blog and let me know what you think- I see improvements, but it may just be me >_< also, anyone looking for adult brace support/FAQ its a great place to find it :)

I searched for this topic, and no avail- but I wasn't curious if any members have had braces, or are currently wearing them. I actually am an adult with braces, one who couldn't afford them while I was a child and am now taking the plunge-

I'm curious of how you perceive older people with braces, or younger- if you think its worth it, if you feel self conscious as well, or like having them- anyone with braces or thinking about them?

i have also read thatthey are planning on making a blockbuster NGEvangellion or attempting too, for mainstream audiences- interesting, but i don't know if they can pull it off with real actors-

harassment charge missy- first, warn him, and if he does it again, get the police involved, especially your parents as well= usually a nice "excuse me your son is harassing my daughter" works wonders

ok- I only have a minute and sorry to take so long to reply-

First of all, with the great sweep of deletions in the gallery, things will be accidentl;y deleted, because each moderator has a different view on what is "suggestive" and what is not- and we have realized this. What we are currently doing is going by the guidelines we've made, writing down which mod has swept what gallery and so forth, then having another go through and make sure the deletions are questionable/not- I also ask that members who have had deletions such as "Lucy" [because I myself find it artistic, and while browsing the gallery passed on deleting that one because of that] should PM a moderator from that section with the original botchii message [so we know if it was deleted for mature content/low quality/rip/etc] and politely ask for a reconsideration. Now, if the moderator dissagrees and believes it to be offensive/suggestive/non-artistic, I'm pretty sure it is and shouldn't be in the gallery- but if it is deemed not so, it will be restored to the gallery. Again, please be patient and recognize that we are all human and do not have a chip which allows us to delete what is exactly borderline or not.

as for the sponsor problem- like I said, all I know is what we were told- we may be working on fixing the problem/nopt, I have no idea- but what I can tell you is we are discussing the matter at hand and will try to come up with the best possible way for both all members and sponsors- these things take time you know.

Quote: Hi Belmikry I have to say with you saying you are redefining what is ecchi and what is hentai means you are casting what is defined in a dictionary out the door and saying that definition is wrong, I can't see how you can do that

well, actually when we made the sections we used words from the Japanese, such as doujinshi [indy art] hentai, echii etc- and defined what is and what is not for the purposes of this site in particular- basically it's impossible to define each individual image of art as one thing or the next, you need to find ground lines as such for organizing and the like. This is a form of organizing, not redfining words for our benefit- Like any site, in order to be online and organized, we need to make rules and guidelines of what is and is not allowed- these are modified as needed to provide the best site possible, sometimes for the good and sometimes for the bad.

And, we can't really just blame the sponsors- it's their rules, and we have to play by them- Minitokyo was originally made as an all ages site, so we need to stick by their organization rules, just like we have to stick to ours, regardless of what we like/don't like. Sites on google which state all ages most likely get warnings too if they are sponsoring, so please don't assume they are picking on us in general-

you guys, echii is still allowed, just not borderline hentai- all we did was remove the really down right raunchy stuff, echii is still here, we have just redfiened whats echii and what's hentai-

I happen to love artistic nudes, I'm an art major- primarily in figure drawing, so I understand your concerns about censorship- but, I've had to delete a vast majority of my submissions because of this as well, its not just because a small amount of MT doesn't want to see echii, it's because it's becoming a problem which potentially could make MT non-existant.
I don't want to see that- and besides, you can find hentai and hard core echii anywhere, and yes on google.
MT is defined as an all ages site, and thus is the understanding of our sponsors- so we can't go on saying google is being hypocritical, because that isn't the case- we have been too lenient on our definition of all ages submissions and it needs to be fixed- can you pelase understand that?
you can still submit your works on say threads or in the echii group pages, but not in the Minitokyo gallery- use a third party host, but if you are only worried about credits, i'm sorry but this isn't going to be good news.

Look, Minitokyo changes as the months go by- originally hentai was allowed on MT, now it isn't- we had people upset then too, but one day once MT evolves into whatever it becomes, it may resurface- who knows? all I can say is that regardless of our opinions, this is the reality for now- later, we should all get together and discuss the matter at hand, define what is allowed and what should be. The mods have been working hard together to figure out a way to make the situation better for all members involved, not just a select few- and no, we haven't come up with a fantastic decision for everyone to be happy, but we are trying- day by day, updates happen, and changes occur. We have come up with ideas on making MT work for you as well as our sponsors and everyone involved, so don't assume we are not listening to your complaints. But please, be supportive for now- and we can start picking up the torn bits and making MT into a fun community, ok?

Quote by DevildudeIn saving this format, you must use the save for web option, what you must do is that you set the quality level (on the side, there is a scroll bar) and set to 70% max, if the image quality is too high, it cannot be loaded and will not show, and hence the error you received.

The skin package is right, just follow the slices to load. Make sure you set the quality level of the jpeg to 70%, usually that is good, if it is still too big, adjust it to become smaller.

thats right semanga- for some reason just saving and uploading the file sizes are too large, so you need to make them smaller [the filesize, not the slices]

Quote by IlonaI would have like better a kind of page to have a quick view of the page to have an idea what it is like without having to load it.

that would take an awfull load of time..then again, a thumbnail system like the one that the gallery has would be alot usefull...IMO

i agree- making th userpage submissions into thumbnail froms like the galleries would be a good option :)

i agree- i think only having the top 10 favourties there means more people with the same userpage, because it's really annoying searching the whole list under the mt skin part... maybe having a top used list with all of them [like the gallery] or something? :/

Quote by BisukettoNice skin.. I voted for too girly XD... but one must admit it is a good layout. The colours go quite well with the header scan except the blue titles are a tad light.. but my eyes are dodgy XD. I love that MT text in the header, A great text-scan match ;). The only qualm is that dark title bar (where your threads are) I cant see it going well with any text colour. But meh a very good job :thumb:

oh i know- i hate that header >_< but sheq hasn't fixed the options yet so I Can't touch it- thats left from my earlier skin >_<

I was wondering if any other Dragon half fans felt about the english dubbed version of Dragon Half- I recently bought the DVD with both the subtitles and dubbed versions, but I found that the english dub was horrendous! the whole atmosphere was changed by ruining the quirky voices of the characters [hello? domoramu?] Does anyone prefer this or feel the same way? I think if they ever make new episodes [sigh- if only!] they should definately find better dubbing actors ~_~

Quote by Anjhurinhum... yeah it's nice, i think the bubble effects are great, and the scan nice, plus the colors are really good.... except that... it's too girly lol ^_^'
anyway good job, though why did you make 2 threads for it? maybe you should close one ne? belly's super girly MT3 userpage layout! >_<

merged: 11-04-2005 ~ 03:49am
or maybe the first thread was an incomplete version that now needs to be closed?

well, i had an original userpage skin called mechanical angel- little did i know that the skin builder removes whichever one you originally had on the list :P

i REALLY love the effects in the background- i just wish the image on the left was incorporated better- especially since the scan is blurry then so crisp with the other side :/ ,,,

i think if you do some work on the scan, it would make this page a 10/10 :)
